The Calhoun Plantation conservation easement is a fine example of what can be accomplished when conservation-minded landowners and the County government work together to preserve important tracts of land in southern Beaufort County.

Mary Pinckney Merrick and the Beaufort County Open Land Trust reached a mutually beneficial agreement that will protect Calhoun Plantation from development, yet still allow the Pinckney family to remain on the property and enjoy the tranquil, rural lifestyle that they treasure.

The Pinckney Colony Homeowners Association believes that a similar remedy could be found to prevent the development of Pinckney Point and preserve the land for the benefit of the County's residents for generations to come.  Please join us in the effort to save Pinckney Point from development!
